History:

FREELANCE was built in June 1988 by Nautor in Finland. Her first owner was british and bought the boat for his retirement. The boat was sailed under the british Flag.

The boat saild the Fastnet Race in 1989. In 1990 FREELANCE took part in the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo. After that the boat was laid ashore for a  year in Turkey. Then FREELANCE made her first Atlantic crossing and sailed the 25th Antigua Sailing Week in 1992. Through Newport (USA) the boat was sailed back to England. In 1995 the boat was ashore at Hayling Island, where it ws sold in June 1996.

I bought the boat and sailed it in August 1996 from England to Alicante(Spain) with a single stop in Lisboa, Portugal. The trip was only 12 days. FREELANCE was already German flag at that time.

In 1997 I first sailed the Balearic Islands and in autum I went to the Canaries for the ARC. Here we sailed (5 persons) in the Racing Division, becoming third in the Division and fourth over all (aprox. 165 boats). In 1998 I cruised the Caribbean between Trinidad and Florida, saling in May 1998 singelhanded from Florida back to St. Lucia, against theTtrades. I arrived in St. Lucia after 1.600NM and 11 days. The hurrican season was spend in Trinidad and Tobago. Then FREELANCE was laid ashore for 6 months and in April 1999 I saild the boat to the Azores from where a friend of mine continued to Flensburg in Germany.

In May 2000 I saild with my wife first to Norway and then via Dover, Lissabon and Gibraltar to Spain. In 2001 the boat was saild in the Balearic Islands and Spain mainland.

In 2002 we saild again toThe Canaries to do the ARC. This time we were four persons and sailed the Cruisisng Division. We arrived in St. Lucia after 16days and 3 Hrs. That means and daily average of about 175 NM. After spending the winter in the Carebean  we sailed back to Spain via Azores and Gibraltar. We arrived in Alicante in May 2003.

The boat was intensively enjoyed, but only for pivate use and is ready for new adventures.

Good and safe sailing to all !!
